ImageConvert Pro is a fully client-side, browser-based image converter and editor that runs entirely in the user’s browser with no server, no uploads, and complete privacy. It requires nothing more than opening index.html in a modern browser (Chrome or Edge recommended) and ships as an installable Progressive Web App with a service worker for offline use. The entire application is dependency-light: vanilla JavaScript with only three external libraries loaded from CDN — Cropper.js for cropping, jsPDF for PDF export, and JSZip for archive generation — while every image transformation, filter, and export happens locally on a <canvas> element. Nothing ever leaves the user’s device, making it ideal for photographers, designers, e-commerce sellers, and anyone handling sensitive imagery.
The application is organized around a clean three-panel editor layout with a fixed-height, overflow-managed shell that keeps the header, queue, preview, and tools all visible without page scrolling on desktop. The Queue panel on the left shows thumbnails of every loaded image with active selection, per-item removal, live status icons (spinner / checkmark / error), and animated progress bars that appear only when an item is converting, done, or failed. The Preview panel in the center uses a checkerboard canvas background and offers quick-access transform tools (rotate left/right, flip horizontal/vertical, before/after compare toggle) plus a dedicated crop apply/cancel bar. The Tools panel on the right contains five tabs — Convert, Output, Edit, Effects, and Adjust — and scrolls independently so the layout never breaks regardless of how many controls are added. The upload zone supports drag-and-drop and click-to-browse for multiple files at once, accepting JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, HEIC, HEIF, TIFF, TIF, SVG, ICO, and AVIF.
The Convert tab covers output format selection across WebP, PNG, JPG, PDF, SVG, ICO, AVIF, and GIF (lossless formats automatically disable the quality slider), a quality slider from 10% to 100%, an optional target file size in KB or MB that auto-binary-searches for the highest quality that fits, and an optional resize section with width/height inputs, a lock-aspect-ratio toggle, and aspect-preserving auto-calculation. The Output tab adds genuinely powerful bulk features: a multi-size export that generates 0.5×, 1×, 2×, and 3× resolutions packed into a ZIP; a favicon pack that produces 16, 32, 48, 64, 128, 180, 192, and 512px PNGs plus a 64px ICO and an apple-touch-icon, all cover-cropped to square; and ten social media presets (Instagram Post, IG Story, Twitter/X Post, Twitter Header, LinkedIn Post, LinkedIn Cover, Facebook Post, YouTube Thumb, Pinterest, TikTok Cover) that cover-resize the processed image to exact platform dimensions and download it in the currently selected format.
The Edit tab brings real image editing to the browser: cropping via Cropper.js with visual guides, 90° rotation, free rotation from −180° to +180° with quick −15°/0°/+15° buttons, remove background (a fast corner-sampling color-distance algorithm that works well on solid backgrounds), auto enhance (per-channel histogram stretching with a mild contrast boost), red-eye removal (heuristic detection of strongly red pixels with low green/blue and channel averaging), grayscale, invert, and sharpen (a 3×3 convolution kernel), plus a text overlay with configurable text, size, color, and a 3×3 position grid with black outline and drop shadow for readability. The Effects tab adds rounded corners up to 200px, a border/frame with adjustable width and color, and a watermark with text, opacity, size, color, and the same 3×3 position grid. The Adjust tab provides sliders for brightness, contrast, saturation, hue rotation, and blur, each with live numeric feedback and a reset button.
What elevates ImageConvert Pro beyond a simple converter is its UX power layer. A full undo/redo history (up to 40 snapshots) tracks rotation, flips, corners, border, filters, watermark, and text overlay, with keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y) and disabled-state buttons in the header. A keyboard shortcut system documented in a modal (press ?) covers undo, redo, rotate, flip, compare, convert, open files, and escape. A dark/light theme toggle persists the user’s preference to localStorage with a complete light-theme variable override. Editing presets let users save the current filter/effect setup under a name and reapply it later with one click, while recent sessions remember the last eight convert operations along with their full preset data so users can restore a previous workflow instantly. The progress UI in the queue is a notable refinement: each item carries its own status, progress bar, and status icon, and batch conversion animates each item individually with a shimmering gradient while it runs, turning green with a checkmark on success or red on error.
Export handling is thorough and format-aware. PNG, BMP, and GIF bypass quality compression (the GIF path falls back to PNG since true GIF encoding isn’t available natively); JPEG, WebP, and AVIF use the quality slider; the target-size algorithm runs up to eight iterations of binary search on quality to fit within the user’s byte budget; PDF export embeds the canvas as a JPEG inside a jsPDF document sized to the image’s millimeter dimensions with correct orientation; SVG export wraps a base64 PNG inside an SVG wrapper (a practical “vector container” approach); and ICO export resizes to 64×64. All downloads use URL.createObjectURL with a 150ms cleanup delay, and every export is wrapped in try/catch with user-facing toast notifications for success and failure.
The visual design is a refined dark-first system with a subtle ambient gradient, elevated surfaces, tasteful borders, a primary indigo/violet/cyan palette, and a fully realized light theme. Components include a glassy header action bar, pulse-ring upload animation, checkerboard canvas background, animated toast, blurred overlay for long operations, comparison slider with a draggable circular handle, and modal system for shortcuts and presets. The layout is height-constrained and overflow-safe: html and body are locked to height: 100% with overflow: hidden, the app uses flexbox with min-height: 0 throughout, and each panel scrolls independently — so the UI never breaks regardless of screen size or content volume. Below 1100px the side panels narrow, below 850px the layout collapses to three stacked rows (queue, preview, tools), and below 500px the format/edit/social grids stack appropriately. The PWA layer includes a manifest with a maskable SVG icon, a theme color, and a service worker that caches all core assets on install, cleans up old caches on activate, and uses a cache-first-with-network-fallback fetch strategy.
In short, ImageConvert Pro is a polished, privacy-first, fully offline-capable image studio that runs in the browser — one that combines serious conversion power (eight formats, target-size compression, batch with live per-item progress, multi-size ZIP, favicon packs, social presets) with genuine editing depth (crop, rotate, filters, watermarks, text, background removal, auto-enhance, red-eye) and a thoughtful UX layer (undo/redo, presets, themes, shortcuts, PWA install), all without ever sending a single byte to a server.
